Specialist recruitment consultancy JAM has appointed a new managing director of contracts, Nick Barker, to lead the firm’s newly launched London office.
The Sale-based firm sources permanent and contracted candidates for the UK’s defence and aerospace, manufacturing, energy, technology and professional services sectors.
Before joining JAM in 2010, Nick was a director at Orgtel – a division of international recruitment firm SThree that specialises in the finance and IT sectors.
John Morris said: “Sourcing candidates with specialist skills for large, nation-wide businesses now makes up a significant proportion of JAM’s work, and the London base is helping us further develop these relationships.
“Nick has a wealth of experience running highly effective recruitment teams and I am confident that he will allow us to deliver our ambitious plans to grow JAM’s presence nationally.”
Launched 10 years ago by current chief executive officer John Morris, JAM has developed a reputation for sourcing niche skills for some of the UK’s biggest employers.
Last year, JAM achieved sales in excess of £10m and is looking to expand into new markets. A further office in Europe is already planned and the firm aims to double its nearly 100-strong team of specialist consultants over the next three years.
