City IT recruitment specialists, GCS, are supporting Reading Town Football Club all the way to the top with the purchase of their new home and away kits.
ëWith one of our offices in Reading, GCS is always looking for ways to support its local community,í explains GCS MD, Chris Bartlett. ëAnd when we found out that Reading Townís sponsor for their kit had pulled out, we were very happy to step in and help.í
Neil Goff, assistant manager for the club and a recruitment consultant at GCS in Reading, approached his bosses on the basis that they could only say no. ëI was a new member of the company and knew their reputation for local involvement and thought, if you donít ask you donít get. So I asked! Football has always been a passion for me and I was delighted when GCS agreed to buy both the home and away kits.í
Neil played semi professional football with Aldershot School of Excellence in his teens and has been actively involved with Reading Town for a number of years supporting the manager, Colin Millard. ëI had to give up playing at 18 due to an injury,í Neil explains, ëso itís been fantastic to provide coaching and advice for the club, and bring in much needed financial support.í
Having suffered injuries and illness early in the season, Reading Town is currently positioned mid-table in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League, but their ultimate goal is the top division in non-league football, the Ryman League. ëWe will get thereí, says Neil. ëWeíre a great club and we aim high.í
