Extra Personnel has implemented Fastpath at each of its 21 branch locations throughout the West Midlands and the North West. Developed by ISV Software, it is being used online and at branch locations to rapidly and cost effectively determine the knowledge, skills and abilities of candidates in the commercial sector.
Fastpath enables candidates with the required skills and knowledge to be identified in less time and is up to 10 times faster than traditional solutions. The software simulation tests have been developed specifically for the web environment and emulate real-world software applications and business processes with on-screen instructions to guide candidates through each test. Full replication of live software is provided to give a more realistic picture of skills. Importantly, all voices used are British making it easier to listen to and understand.
According to Jill Morgan, Business Services Manager at Extra Personnel: ìFastpath enables our consultants to analyse the performance of different candidates and identify those with the skills and knowledge required by specific employers. It gives us access to a wider pool of talent and will help us to deliver an even higher level of service to our clients.î
As well as proving candidate competency assessments, Fastpath also delivers training for candidates wishing to improve their skill levels. Candidates can specify the skills they require and receive as much training as necessary before taking the assessment. After completing the assessment, candidates will be shown which questions were answered correctly and where mistakes were made.

Extra Personnel is also providing work seekers with a free CDROM to improve their skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Again developed by ISV Software, it will enable people to become fully proficient Microsoft users in their own free time and open up new career opportunities. The CD will be given to the first one thousand people to register and covers all the basic, intermediate and advanced skill levels required by employers.
