Huntress Recruitment raises money for Cancer Research UK

.

Huntress is delighted to announce that the London Commercial Team have successfully raised 300 for Cancer Research UK, their nominated charity. This was made possible by the success of Huntressís latest Complimentary Employment Law Seminar, held by the Kingsway Branch in conjunction with Prettys Solicitors on Tuesday 19th April 2005. The aim was to provide key Huntress clients with an essential overview of current and forthcoming employment legislation soon to affect all UK companies, and to assist in providing practical solutions to these issues, whilst raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Jane Atherton, Director, remarked:

ìHuntress is working with Cancer Research on a number of fundraising initiatives through our branches. Offering our support to the charity as a company means we are directly aiding their cause and raising awareness through local companies. We are particularly pleased with the involvement and support from our clientsî

While Huntress incurred all costs for this seminar, it was requested that all attendees donate a small gesture of 5 on arrival to Cancer Research UK. The Huntress Team presented their cheque to Cancer Research UKís Head of Resourcing, Rob Farace at their Kingsway offices on Tuesday 24th May. The cheque was presented by Account Managers, Gareth Jones and Angie Bunting. Huntress will continue to support Cancer Research UK with their planned charity events throughout 2005.

A preferential partner of Cancer Research UK, Huntress has supplied them with temporary and permanent personnel for over 3 years. The HR Director for Cancer Research UK spoke about the partnership:

ìHuntress was recommended to me and I decided to give them a chance to allow me to compare their service to other agencies. I have been highly impressed by their efficiency and responsiveness when supplying staff to me. In addition their temps speak highly of the organisation, which I believe contributes to their success. Huntress has raised money for us on various occasions in the past and they have done it again. The Employment Law Seminar has been a huge success on all counts.î

The seminar was held at Arundel House in Temple, and included an hour-long presentation from guest speaker Matthew Cole, a partner at Prettys solicitors and a leading employment law specialist. The subject matter was very topical, covering Discrimination and Equal Pay, Fixed-term and Flexible Working, and Employer Supported Childcare. A Question and Answer session then followed, giving attendees the chance to quiz the Prettys team on individual issues. The atmosphere was extremely positive with delegates eagerly waiting to hear about recent and forthcoming changes to the law and the possible effects on their companies.
