The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a non-profit think tank, professional association and educator in talent management strategies, announced today that HCIís Chief Learning Officer, David Forman, led a series of seminars and presentations on Talent, Change Management and Strategic Human Resources in Budapest, Hungary and Zagreb, Croatia. Forman presented to high level delegates from 11 different countries in the region, many of whom are working for major international companies.
It was a great opportunity to see the global application of many of the key principles and processes we talk about in HCIís educational programs. While countries like China and India receive a great deal of coverage in terms of their role in the global economy, there are equally exciting opportunities emerging in Central and Eastern Europe. In his new book The World is Flat, Thomas Friedman describes these changes and the resulting opportunities for this part of the world. It was a great experience to actually see and feel what is happening there.
The presentations and seminars were arranged through Stamford Global. Headquartered in Budapest, Stamford Global was established to bring world-class and cutting-edge business events and professional training courses to the Central and Eastern European region. HCI and Stamford Global are engaged in discussions about offering HCIís new certificate series of educational programs to the region beginning in the Fall of 2005.
The foundation of HCIís Human Capital Certificate Program is the Human Capital Management Principles (HCMP) course, which integrates the full spectrum of talent management functions: strategic planning, acquiring, developing, deploying, retaining and evaluating human capital. After completing HCMP, participants choose to either embark on a particular functionís learning track, or select particular courses of interest across tracks.
