Human Capital Institute and PreVisor Announce Second Seminar in Series

Programs for Federal Agencies

Washington, D.C. - The Human CapitalInstitute (HCI), a global professional association and educator in talent management strategies, today announced the latest addition to its signature Innovation Tours, an ongoing series of talent management network and learn events held in major metropolitan areas throughout the United States and Canada.

Sponsored by PreVisor, a leader in predictive employee selection, the program, Talent Retention in Federal Agencies: Challenges, Solutions, Innovations, will be offered in Washington, D.C., on September 13.

The event, which includes a continental breakfast, panel presentation and discussion, and networking session, takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. ET at the Washington D.C. Four Points Sheraton. Talent Retention in Federal Agencies is for strategic-level federal agency HR professionals, as well as managers and executives.

The presentation focuses on the unique retention challenges federal agencies face. These include dealing with a potential mass exodus of retirement-eligible people while being constrained by mandated goals and preferences in an effort to hire replacements. At the same time, federal agencies confront competition from the private sector.

This is the second in the Human Capital Institute's series of Innovation Tour seminars for strategic-level federal government HR professionals. In response to audience feedback from the first seminar in April, HCI has assembled a panel of talent retention experts, including an award-winning practitioner from the U.S. EPA, to provide proven strategies for keeping the best people, said Allan Schweyer, HCI's President and Executive Director, who will moderate the panel discussion.

Brian Twillman, AO Training Officer & Organization Development Specialist for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; Derrick Barton, Chief Talent Officer for the Center for Talent Retention; Joyce Gioia, President of The Herman Group and CEO of Employer of Choice Inc.; and Ken Lahti, Ph.D., Director of Client Solutions for PreVisor will share retention strategies that can be implemented across every stage of the employment life cycle.

Drawing on the latest research, best practices, and innovative approaches, the session will provide context for hiring with an eye to retention, show how to retain current employees, and address retention issues of retirement-eligible employees. Participants will come away with programs and practices that can lead to greater employee retention.

Talent Retention in Federal Agencies is free to professional members and guests of the Human Capital Institute.
