HSS launch confined space training tank

HSS Training invests in a custom-built confined space tank as they open new facilities

HSS Training, the dedicated training division of nationwide tool and equipment hire company, HSS Hire, has invested in a state of the art, custom-built confined space tank to add a practical element to their Confined Space Awareness training course.

Unique to the industry, the purpose built tank will take delegates out of the classroom and enable them to practice confined spaces safety within a real working environment. Various scenarios can be simulated within the tank, providing a range of hazardous environments for trainees to respond to – including floods, gas leaks and reduced visibility.

HSS Training Director, Mark Winfield says: ìThe confined space awareness course gives delegates the knowledge and skills they need to manage the specified risks that come from working in a confined space. But thereís only so much that the theory can teach you and you canít beat a bit of practical application which is why weíve made this significant investment. And weíll be commissioning more training tanks over the next few months to make sure that all our confined space awareness courses offer this additional training element.î

HSS Training will also offer delegates the opportunity to pursue five confined space related City and Guilds courses.

The investment comes just as HSS Training opens its new flagship training centre in Solihull.. The new facility, part of the HSS Supercentre on Focus Park, Ashbourne Way, offers improved training facilities to better support the delivery of the 100 safety, technical and management courses offered by HSS.
