HR GO Havant awarded GLA Licence

Recruitment business, HR GO Havant Ltd, is delighted to have been awarded the Gangmaster Licensing Authority (GLA) licence this week.

The GLA audit was a huge success and the company passed with flying colours receiving zero endorsement points. This is a great achievement for HR GO Havant, based in Hampshire and shows their commitment and dedication to the highest levels of recruitment practice.

The company, which is better known as Elite Resourcing, recruits within the commercial, and technical markets and has been established since 2000.

The license is designed to protect temporary workers within the food chain from exploitation by unscrupulous gangmasters in the UK and acts as a seal of approval of both a best practice and legally compliant labour provider. The GLA requires all suppliers to use only labour providers who are working in compliance of the Code of Practice and those who have obtained a licence.

The GLA is leading huge changes to both the recruitment and food industries. From 1st October 2006 it will be illegal for an employment agency without a GLA licence to provide labour to the food industry and from 1st December it will be illegal for a company to use staff from non GLA approved agencies. Companies not adhering to this new legislation face a maximum penalty of a 51 week prison sentence and fine.
