Hounslow job-seekers taste Bollywood glamour

A glittering Bollywood style awards night marked the achievements of a group of job-seekers who are nearer to their goal of employment thanks to national employment charity Shaw Trust.

Three successful candidates were on hand to receive their awards from Bollywood heartthrob Gulsham Grover at the recent star-studded event held at Heathrow Airport.

Pauline and Steve Pennington and Baljinder Panesar were three of the 20 Shaw Trust clients to complete the British Airways Authorities Retail course and Food and Hygene Certificates so far this year.

Gulsham is my hero it was like a dream come true to meet him it was a fantastic night, said Baljinder, 39 who had spent months searching for a job before Shaw Trust lent a helping hand.

We were so humbled to be invited to such a brilliant bash, added Steve Pennington.

The launch was organised by Heathrow City Partnership to focus on promoting local jobs for local people in the Hounslow area.

The BAA course, which prepares people for employment within the retail businesses at Heathrow Airport, is just one of the courses Shaw Trust make available to clients in the local area.

We aim to help as many people as possible into work training is a valuable way of increasing skills and confidence, said Shaw Trust Key Account Consultant Mita Das.

The launch was a very memorable occasion, a great way for our clients to celebrate their successful achievements, she added.
