GTI One hop from Linx – the UK internet super highway

GTI Recruiting Solutions the ATS and RPO people moved over 100 websites across a weekend to a leaner, greener and more efficient IT infrastructure facility

GTI Recruiting Solutions the ATS and RPO people moved over 100 websites across a weekend to a leaner, greener and more efficient IT infrastructure facility. This means clients benefit from new low voltage servers with the latest processors in a brand new network centre. Recruiters using their GTI talent acquisition systems are just one ìhopî away from Linx, the hub of the UK internet and access to the world wide web. ìOn average most people have between 8 and 14 hops or transitions through routers,î says Group GTI Chief Technical Officer Keith Ives, ìin one weekend weíve made a giant stride in our service delivery to clients, essentially our network centre is on top of the UK web spine with far greater resilience and higher performance. The bandwidth available is 1 Gb per second. Itís already paid back dividends in terms of service delivery.î

The new GTI network centre has multiple connectivity with many internet providers. The centre is split into left and right hand sides allowing for regular access to spare capacity meaning all systems are load balanced ie a high end service, reflecting the benefit of a serviced hosted solution. This new infrastructure includes the use of a new annual email service delivery model instead of the usual month by month model to reflect GTIís peaks which may exceed some 25 million emails a month. Like wise there are new fire walls with VPN termination which means there is no loss of session state plus a new SAN (storage area network) for instantaneous backups.
