The Federation of Small Businesses has launched a new service for members experiencing the traumatic journey through serious illness. The Federation's National Council voted in May that they should introduce FSB Care (launching today) and will be free of charge to members.
The vast majority of us have known somebody who has been diagnosed with a serious condition like cancer, and while the actual treatment of the condition is first class, the emotional effects on the individual and their family are often left untreated. By launching FSB Care, the natural anxieties that SMEs will experience can finally be addressed.
The attraction of large corporate companies to employees lays partly within the security of schemes much like the one being launched by the FSB, and will allow small companies to compete for staff on a much more level playing field and can make a huge difference to members and their employees.
Teaming up with care advisors Red Arc, they will offer to support and give advice to members diagnosed with a serious health condition or long-term disability. The care will stem from having access to a personal nurse advisor, specialist counselling and therapy through to access to a network of charities and self-help groups designed to really help practically with the emotional stress of serious illness.
