“This report shows that Directors at the top paying companies in the UK can get six figure salaries, and that is not even including bonuses and stock,” said Dr. Andrew Chamberlain,

Glassdoor Chief Economist. “Banking and professional services dominate, and it’s interesting that just one tech firm makes the list. Almost all of these firms have their UK headquarters in London, proving that The City is still the place to be when it comes to leadership salaries.”

While the companies on this list pay handsomely and a Glassdoor survey shows salary is among people’s top considerations before accepting a job, Glassdoor research also shows that salary is not among the leading factors tied to long-term employee satisfaction. In contrast, culture and values, career opportunities, and trust in senior leadership are the biggest drivers of long-term employee satisfaction.

1: Methodology: Report based on salaries shared by UK employees between 16/09/13 and 15/09/16. Only salaries linked to specific companies have been considered and companies must have received at least 25 salaries for a specific job title to be eligible. Report includes all salaries for jobs with “Director” only in the title.
