Technology can open new possibilities and opportunities, but it is people that implement the applications and people who use them. And it can all happen in the most unexpected of ways.
Online Recruitment is now at a crossroads. Driven by technology, it had, for a considerable period, ploughed its own furrow and dictated the pace of change. However, increasing data speeds on mobile have led to serious competition in this area: this technology has now begun to put candidates in the position to not only dictate the pace of change, but also its direction, with social media high on the list of applications.
Generation Y has embraced these changes, but a plethora of sometimes competing applications has meant that there is no longer a clear way forward, with, for example, social media fragmenting into professional and purely social use and experts predicting a corresponding decline in traditional online. Or is this really the case?
Lucian Tarnowski, with his company BraveNewTalent, is at the forefront of developments in Social Media and is ideally placed to look at future scenarios for online, providing pointers to niche areas. Lucian's entrepreneurial spirit, drive and global perspective has enabled the creation of BraveNewTalent.com, an innovative web 2.0 social recruiting platform, which is already operating on an international level and has attracted a client base of some of the world’s largest employer brands such as L’Oreal, IBM and Tesco. The platform builds Talent Communities for its clients using Talent Words Targeted campaigns on Facebook, Twitter and other social channels. Lucian is the winner of the 2009 Enterprising Young Brit award and Europe’s youngest Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum
