G4S cash services announces four year pay agreement

Following extensive negotiations with the GMB, G4S Cash Services can confirm today that a landmark four-year pay deal has now been finalised

Following extensive negotiations with the GMB, G4S Cash Services can confirm today that a landmark four-year pay deal has now been finalised. G4S has worked positively with the union throughout the process to agree a single contract for all employees.

The new deal has been agreed at a time when the entire security industry in the UK is undergoing major change, not least with the introduction of licensing in March 2006.

Ian Nisbet, Managing Director of G4S Cash Services commented: ìBy working closely with the GMB and through continual consultation with our employees we have achieved a successful outcome for all. The new terms and conditions will ensure Group 4 Securicor attracts and retains the best people in the industry and I would like to thank our employees for their support during the negotiation period.

ìThe pay deal has also been supported by our customers, who are increasingly understanding of the essential job our employees carry out. This agreement will provide clarity to our business strategy over the next four years and enable us to continually improve service levels.î

Allan Black GMB National Officer for the Security Industry said: This landmark deal has set a new standard for the security industry. Through constructive negotiations with G4S and our members, we have agreed a significant increase in basic pay, a consolidation of allowances and more accommodating schedules, which will result in more efficient working practices and higher productivity. There is something in it for everybody.
