G4S announces a global first

G4S plc, the worldís leading international security solutions group, has launched a corporate careers website to provide centralised access to all global vacancies within the group

G4S plc, the world’s leading international security solutions group, has launched a corporate careers website to provide centralised access to all global vacancies within the group. The launch of careers.g4s.com also provides a central hub for information, news and advice which can be continually distributed through a variety of social media channels.

Not only does the site provide a “one stop” solution to hiring managers but it also seamlessly works with any applicant tracking system. To date both RecruitActive and Monster TMS have been integrated in the United Kingdom, the first integration of a European ATS provider begins on the 19th January with more to follow throughout Q1 and beyond.

The integration of Burning Glass and Kaonix search and match technology means that for the first time G4S managers will be offered an instant candidate match to all job advertisements in addition to candidates applying direct. This will instantly decrease the potential time to hire and dramatically improve candidate benchmarking and short listing.

The new career centre offers the opportunity to connect with candidates through social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter offering a deeper insight into the candidate, where they have worked and their network of contacts. The system also gives G4S the capability to drive out relevant news, content and job opportunities to these candidates through social channels.

In addition to the external social media channels G4S has created a secure environment within the new career centre where candidates can express their views, interact with hiring managers and gain a true sense of community. Candidates are invited to join forums and groups where they have the opportunity to gain a stronger understanding of the business, its people and its hiring processes.

Colin Minto, global head of resourcing at G4S said: This is a very exciting time for resourcing at G4S. We have managed to create a truly global recruitment solution that integrates local needs into a global recruiting portal.

“The system will allow any hiring manager to not only place advertisements but also have candidates instantly matched to their roles as well as providing a comprehensive, searchable, candidate database.

“For candidates the biggest change will be the level of engagement that is offered to them. The opportunity to create a rich profile featuring their social media channels and personalised information, a vast amount of information about best practise in finding work both in written and video format, including community based forums and groups, as well as offering the largest resource for researching G4S and how to work with us offers candidates a richer experience where they will feel connected to the company and supported by G4S in their search for employment”.

Commenting on the benefits of the new career centre Andy Hanscomb, group director of HR and resourcing at G4S said: We are delighted with the new site. The work we have done ensures that recruitment will be quicker, more cost effective and considerably more engaging whilst incorporating the needs of all the countries in the group”.
