Futurestep to Sponsor the Human Capital Institute's Global Talent Acquisition Track

.

Washington, D.C. - June 3, 2009 - The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a global professional association and think tank that is advancing the science of strategic talent management, and Futurestep, a Korn/Ferry Company and a leader in global strategic talent acquisition, announced today that Futurestep will sponsor HCI's Global Talent Acquisition track, part of HCI's Talent Acquisition community of interest.

The Global Talent Acquisition track is devoted to sharing the experiences and best practices of those who have faced the challenges of building talent acquisition operations in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa, and around the world.

Understanding cultural needs, working across time zones and long distances, understanding the local talent market and regulatory environments, and establishing the right organizational strategy are just a few of the challenges facing companies as they expand or reinforce their recruiting efforts on a global scale. The Global Talent Acquisition track is designed to help talent acquisition professionals successfully address these challenges.

HCI is pleased to partner with Futurestep on this new track, said Amy Lewis, Director of HCI's online Talent Acquisition community of interest. Global Talent Acquisition is a timely topic that will engage HCI's membership, which includes talent acquisition professionals from around the world.

The first webcast of the Global Talent Acquisition track, on June 18, 2009, features business and cultural expert Donna Sinnery of Globally Hip LLC, and service delivery leader Wendy Wick of Futurestep. This presentation will draw from the presenters' deep experience working with talent organizations for major companies around the world. They will cover key areas of global talent acquisition, including:

- Communication styles
- Fluency issues
- Perceptions of hierarchy
- Conflicting norms for decision making
- Real-world examples
- Practical advice for bridging the gaps
