Former Honeywell executive Jim Porter<br>named to head Carlson companies HR

Marilyn Carlson Nelson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carlson Companies, has announced that Jim Porter, former Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Honeywell International, has been chosen to lead the human resources team at Carlson Companies.
ìJim is a terrific executive with outstanding global experience who will help direct our companyís worldwide growth, while keeping a focus on the needs of the individual members of our greater Carlson family,î said Nelson.
In his 21-year career at Honeywell, Porter rose from the role of a human resources recruiter in the companyís defense division to Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, one of six senior officers who reported to the Chairman and CEO of the $25 billion corporation.
In that role his responsibilities included corporate-wide oversight of Human Resources, Information Technology, E-Business, Communications, Community Relations and Global Business Services.
ìI look forward to working with the Carlson Companies team to take this legendary company to its next level of global success,î said Porter, who as Senior Vice President of Human Resources will lead the worldwide human resources efforts of Carlson Companies, and who will report to Nelson.
Porter is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University and is a longtime resident of the Minneapolis community. He and his wife Deb live in Wayzata and have two grown sons and two children who live at home.
