Bart Smith has been appointed as OFTís first Chief Operating Officer

Bart Smith, currently Director of Performance Improvement Consulting at PricewaterhouseCoopers, has been appointed as OFTís first Chief Operating Officer (COO), bringing together management of finance, human resources and the business infrastructure including IT.

In this new post Bart will head up OFTís Resources and Services teams to ensure delivery of the support services necessary to enable the OFT to achieve its business objectives. He will also advise on efficient and effective business processes to enhance delivery across the OFT.

After studying in the US, Bart joined the US Securities and Exchange Commission as a financial economist. He then came to Britain to work for a number of companies including Coopers and Lybrand, before joining PWC in 1997.
