FE Careers - The specialist job advertising site for Further Education, Skills and Employability sectors, has just undergone a major web development with their Further Education industry news publication www.FEnews.co.uk

For the past seven years FE Careers has provided a news site to provide FE professionals with the latest news across the sector. In this time the FE News site has transformed and this week FE Careers have launched the new and improved FE News, with a whole new design, structure and service. New features on the site include a specialist column writer section (as FE News now has over 12 FE sector specialist column writers contributing each month) and a dedicated video interview section.

CEO Gavin OíMeara explains the significance of FE News to the FE Careers audience ìFE News is integral to the FE Careers service, keeping Further Education, Skills and Employability professionals up to date with the latest news and emerging strategies across the entire sector. Through FE News, job seekers can keep up to date with not just the latest jobs, but news, column writers talking strategy across the sector, video interviews and speeches from major policy building events, conference and event informationî.

FE News have delivered sector specific news and provided access to emerging education policy. Far beyond what most people would think would be offered by a niche job advertising site. Gavin goes onto explain how
ìFE News is integral to FE Careers, but we have kept the strategy from seven years ago of using a separate site for FE News, to attract a wider audience long term audience.
ìOur columnists provide a unique insight into sector, as these are experts in each of their areas in FE. Further Education is so vast, but with sector specialists regularly writing columns and contributing news, it gives our audience a unique insight into how to develop their long term career and ultimately how to interact more effectively with learners. Our video content from Further Education policy and strategy conferences across the sector is particularly popular, as they provide a dynamic insight into the future of the Further Education sector, which was previously only accessible to high level policy and decision makersî.

FE News although it is a part of FE Careers, is now the largest source of Further Education news across the web. With the FE News site attracting columnists who are expertise in their field in FE, video interviews, a press release service for the sector and event information. The FE News team have truly embraced the depth of the sector. This year they have attended all of the major conferences affecting the sector, this Autumn they were the only publication in the UK to have travelled with the UK Skills team to Calgary for this yearís WorldSkills competition. FE News are gaining more and more exposure about the importance of competition to the FE sector, inviting FE specialist to get involved in the WorldSkills competition when it comes to London in 2011.

FE Careers have also recently launched www.FEcommunity.co.uk the social networking site for FE, Skills and Employability. FE News and FE Community are fully integrated. All press releases and event information for inclusion on FE News are now submitted through FE Community.

The FE Careers team have continued in their development of services and letís see what they deliver in 2010.
