Young people looking for work could face up to two to three years unemployment according to recent research published by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). But it’s a very different picture in the technology sector which is growing seven times faster than the rest of the economy.

Powa Technologies, the visionary ‘everythingCommerce’ platform providing mobile and eCommerce solutions, has just announced that it’s creating 450 new jobs and is on the hunt for top talent at this year’s Campus Party, the largest annual technology and innovation careers festival.

Dan Wagner, Founder and CEO of Powa Technologies says, “We are keen to hear from people who are gifted and hungry for work to become a part of the Powa global success story. Young people should be fearless, bold and seek out companies which inspire and excite them. We have 450 jobs to fill as we expand our operations in the UK and around the world. Through a series of new office openings we are strengthening our global footprint to become a world class player in mobile commerce.”

Powa Technologies will be providing more information on the opportunities available as well as giving hints and tips on how to get a foot on the career ladder at the Campus Party Marketplace through a series of interactive features. Dan Wagner will be speaking at the event about entrepreneurship within the technology sector, while Steve Emecz, Vice President of Business Development (EEA), will be discussing career opportunities with Powa alongside UK Trade & Investment.

Dan claims, “The mobile commerce sector is going through a very exciting time of growth as consumers radically change the way they engage with retailers. There are some very exciting career opportunities available for people who want to maximise their potential and grow with their company. We are inviting people who want to travel, work hard and learn a new craft to come and talk to us.”

Richard Webster, Business Development Director at Powa Technologies (EMEA), approached Dan Wagner for a position at his company after seeing him on a television programme in the eighties. Following his long tenure at the company and meteoric rise working for Dan, he says that young people today should still have the same tenacity he did.

Richard said, “Having just come out of the military, I struggled to secure a career for me and my family. I was so inspired and excited by Dan after seeing him on television that I decided to call him up and tell him I would like to work for him. Dan offered to see me after witnessing my dedication and potential and offered me a job opportunity. Since than we have had a very long history together, and I have continued to work my way up the company throughout the years. Despite rising levels of youth unemployment, young people should not be afraid to approach leaders and businesses that excite them.”
