Expanding job market creates colossal growth for Job.com

Fast growing career portal experiences rise in traffic due to recent job growth

Job.com announced today that comScore Media Metrix, a leader in Internet audience measurements, released a monthly analysis ranking Job.com eighth out of the top 10 gaining properties on the Internet in October. The analysis was published early November, revealing Job.comís substantial increase in traffic between the months of September and October.

The full service career portal gained over one million unique visitors in October resulting in a 32 percent change from the previous month, according to comScore Media Metrix. Company reports convey that Job.com offers over 340,000 job postings and 1.9 million active resumes on its site, which signals the relief of a recovering labor market.

ìNow that the job market is improving, job seekers are taking a more aggressive approach to managing their careers,î commented Brian Alden, President and CEO of Job.com. ìBoth active and passive job seekers are visiting Job.com to see what opportunities may arise.î

There is no doubt that recent job growth has motivated individuals to assess their current employment situation. The month of October brought 4.1 million unique visitors to Job.com, up 109 percent versus the same month last year, according to comScore Media Metrix.

Although the easing economy has contributed to an increase in Job.comís total unique visitors, comScore Media Metrix data also showed Job.com to be the fourth most visited site in the Career Services category for seven consecutive months, from May through November 2006. This strong, yet steady momentum has allowed Job.com to capture more market share, while its major competitors have remained stagnant in their rankings.

ìAs the U.S. employment situation remains stable, Job.comís employer and job seeker database continues to grow,î continued Alden, ìEmployer and recruiter memberships have sky-rocketed, while the number of resume postings has reached an all time high. Weíre currently preparing for peak, job hunting season where we anticipate even greater volumes of traffic. Throughout this time of economic development, Job.com looks forward to resuming its mission of connecting well qualified candidates with employers and recruiters.î
