Executives online signs first franchisee

Executives Online has signed up its first UK franchisee in a natural move to broaden the brand and meet growing demand for its services

Fast track recruitment agency, Executives Online, has signed up its first UK franchisee in a natural move to broaden the brand and meet growing demand for its services.

Derek Ward is to head up Executives Online North, encompassing the Northwest, Northeast, Yorkshire and Humberside.

Fifty-six year-old Ward has an exemplary background in interim management and consultancy. He was Sales and Marketing Director for Initial Fire and Security and has an in-depth understanding of the recruitment market having witnessed it from both sides of the fence, as a candidate and as UK Group Sales Director for ADT where he was responsible for 850 sales people.

ëAs an employer I saw plenty of shoddy recruitment agencies,í he comments. ëBut as a candidate with Executives Online I got the inside track on exactly how the company operates and I really liked their approach. They are considered to be one of the most respected players in the market so when I was looking to use my commercial experience to create my own company, an Executives Online franchise was the perfect fit.í

The decision to offer franchises is part of Executive Onlineís business model, as MD, Norrie Johnston explains.

ëOur business is growing fast and there is great demand for our unique mix of traditional recruitment skills which harness technology. Businesses still want a personal service but they also want to take full advantage of the vast potential of online recruitment. With our experienced staff and Talent Bank of over 10,000 executives currently seeking positions, this is exactly what Executives Online offers.í

The north of England was the clear choice for the first franchise.

Growth in the north is now outstripping the rest of the country and is the highest it has been for more than a decade and a half, according to an announcement made just this month by Neville Chamberlain, chairman of the Northern Way, the organistaon led by Northern Regional Development Agencies with the collaboration of the Government, established to unlock the potential for faster economic growth in the north.

75% of the Financial Times Top 100 Companies are based in the North of England and with the Lyons Review aiming to relocate 20,000 civil service posts away from London and the southeast of England, the recent move of the Department for Work and Pensions and the e-Government unity are just the tip of the iceberg.

The establishment of Executives Online North is just the start for Executives Online too.

Norrie Johnston again:

ëWe are a web driven business so of course we are thinking global. Businesses the world over need skilled people and they need them fast. Franchises based in specific regions enable us to build on our offering of a truly personal service, maintaining our ability to attend face-to-face briefing meetings with clients and provide day-to-day contact with a local representative. We are very excited about the launch of Executives Online North.í
