Executive Job Growth: More Than Meets The Eye? Despite an uncertain economic backdrop, the Recruiter Confidence Index (RCI) increased for the second consecutive month in October, as search firms shrugged off the credit market turmoil that helped send the Index lower in August. The vast majority of executive recruiters (81 percent) are expecting a double-digit increase in executive job assignments during the next three months.

Search Industry Expansion Speaks Volumes. In a sign that search firms are putting their money where their mouths are, executive recruiters continue to remain focused on increasing headcount. While down from a 12-month high in December 2006, ExecuNetís Search Firm Hiring Index reveals that nearly half of all firms are planning to add staff during the next three months to help support new business growth.

Life Sciences, Healthcare, and High-Tech Are Hot Spots For Job Growth. The talent crunch that has many healthcare and biotech companies struggling to recruit and retain top talent shows no signs of abating, as recruiters expect these industries to generate the greatest growth in executive-level jobs heading into 2008. Executive demand within the High-Tech industry is also expected to remain strong during this period of time.
