Alexander Mann Solutions (AMS) has today launched its first global citizenship report, outlining its corporate social responsibility, employee wellbeing and inclusion and diversity programmes, along with its targets and goals for the year ahead. By joining the UN Global Compact, AMS represents something of an industry first – no other RPO provider has done so.
The Global Citizenship Report is one of the results of AMSís commitment to the UNís Global Compact initiative. The initiative outlines ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. It represents a significant commitment for businesses, involving regular communication on an organisationís progress against its stated ethical goals. Notable other participants in the initiative include Coca-Cola, Cisco, GlaxoSmithKline, HSBC and Accenture.
AMS has always had a dynamic, entrepreneurial culture, thanks mainly to its founder and CEO, Rosaleen Blair. By committing to deliver on the programmes and strategies outlined in the report, Alexander Mann Solutions is formalising its approach to being a responsible company in all of its operations around the globe.
David Heath, Global Director of People Capital and leadership sponsor for AMSís Global Citizenship programme commented on the launch of the report, ìAt Alexander Mann Solutions, Global Citizenship covers all the areas where we have an impact outside of the organisation, including our local communities and the environment. Itís also about acting in a responsible way towards our own people, looking after their wellbeing and ensuring we have a positive, supportive environment to work in.î He continues, ìThe programme gives our people the chance to get involved with our stakeholders outside of their day-to-day jobs; to do something different and to make it count. Weíre working hard to make sure the programme becomes a part of our everyday life across the globe, and adds value to our peopleís experience of AMS.î
To achieve its goals AMS has a network of Global Citizens across its business. îWhether through joining our Global Three Peaks Challenge teams to climb mountains for charity, showcasing fundraising opportunities to raise money for our charities of choice, or thinking of ways to reduce our environmental footprint, everyoneís involvement is wholly supported by the company, wherever they are in the world,î said Heath.
One commitment set out in the report for 2009 has already been achieved. AMS operates in an environmentally sustainable way and as such has recently secured the ISO 14001 accreditation for its global head office in London, UK. It is AMSís aim to reach these standards for all of their global sites.
