Ethical Governance expert to join Rockpools

Claer Lloyd-Jones is the next high profile appointment to join dynamic new recruitment consultants Rockpools, as Partner

Claer Lloyd-Jones, one of the UKís authorities on ethical governance, is the next high profile appointment to join dynamic new recruitment consultants Rockpools, as Partner.

Previously Director of Law and Democratic Services at the London Borough of Hackney, Claerís appointment marks Rockpools growth from a recruitment specialist into a broader based consultancy offering, among other things, specialist services to help local authorities operate successfully within an ethical framework.

Claer, whose work in this area is widely recognised as best practice, said: ìPreviously local authorities used external consultants to review their legal structures and services to see if they were fit for purpose. Then once the gaps were identified, different consultants would do the recruitment. It makes much more sense for one consultancy to provide all these services and work across a whole organisation rather than in specific areas.

ìThe idea of joining Rockpools, a highly dynamic organisation in its infancy, is hugely attractive as it gives me the opportunity to shape its future, in addition to having the chance to recruit the right people to the right jobs to help strengthen our public services.

ìAt Rockpools I can use my knowledge and expertise at a strategic level across the public sector to help make local authorities more accountable to the people and ensure that services are delivered within an ethical frameworkî.

Rockpoolsí Founder, Nev Wilkinson said: ìRockpools has already proved itself to be a highly successful recruitment consultancy. Claerís appointment will support the continued growth and development of our business enabling us to offer services ground breaking in the recruitment industry.

ìI am once again delighted and honoured that someone of Claerís reputation and status has decided to join us and to work with us to strengthen the ethical framework in which local authorities operate, something dear to the heart and values of Rockpoolsî.

Claer originally qualified as a barrister in 1978 before transferring to being a solicitor in 1994. She worked for six years at Tower Hamlets Law Centre and four years at the Central London Law Centre before entering local government.

Previous local government roles include City Solicitor with Brighton and Hove City Council and Head of Legal Services at the London Borough of Lewisham. She was a Councillor at the London Borough of Greenwich in the 80ís and she also has a part time judicial appointment.
