ento sponsorship helps Westleigh Hockey Club to develop from its grass roots

The 2005/6 season looks bright for Leicester Westleigh Hockey Club

The 2005/6 season looks bright for Leicester Westleigh Hockey Club as a four figure sponsorship deal with national training organisation ENTO, has ensured that the club will retain its high profile first team manager and coach ñ Loughborough Student Hockey Team Captain, Glenn Kirkham.

The sponsorship deal brokered with Leicester based ENTO, will see Glenn stay on for another season, managing and coaching the First Team and also coaching the clubís progressive Youth Development Team, which is made up of 8 ñ 14 year olds. Glenn will also manage the coaching of the clubís three other adult teams.

Additionally, the deal will see ENTO as the First Team kit sponsor, with the company logo appearing on the shirts of Westleigh First Teamís home and away strips.

ìWhilst we have great support from our members, amateur clubs are not the richest environments and we are extremely grateful to ENTO for its sponsorship,î explains Steve Hinsley, Leicester Westleigh Hockey Club President.

ìGlennís impact on this club has been enormous and we are delighted to be able to announce that we will be retaining a coach and manager of his calibre for another year. His work is especially essential for our Youth Development Team, where his experience and abilities are giving the next generation of Westleigh and dare I say - one or two future England players - the best possible coaching and development!î

ENTOís Director of Marketing and Communications, David Morgan, is delighted that his company is able to help the regionís most successful club, he comments:

ìOne of my own team, Martyn Wilkinson, who plays for Westleighís First Team, alerted us to the sponsorship opportunity, and we were very impressed with the clubís attitude to the development of its players.

ìWe are in the business of helping people who work with people, so it made sense that we should back a team that has such a strong commitment to player development. The clubís Youth Development Team project is admirable, as it is this type of foresight that will see the club and sport flourish in years to come.î

Based at St Margaretís Pastures Sports Ground, Leicester Westleigh Hockey Club was founded in 1919 and is credited as Leicestershireís most successful menís club of the last 25 years.

The club comprises four menís teams and one mixed, which play each Saturday of the season.
