ENTO becomes kit sponsor of top English womens hockey club

National training organisation, ENTO has become the new kit sponsor of Leicester Hockey club

This new four figure deal will see the ENTO brand on the shirts of Leicester Hockey Clubís first team home and away strips for all English Hockey League National Premier League matches, Super League matches and European Cup Winnersí Cup matches.

Leicester Hockey Club, reputed to be the best womenís hockey club in England, have signed the deal with ENTO following the withdrawal of the clubís former main sponsor, Fyffes PLC.

ENTO, which is also the kit sponsor of Leicester Westleigh Hockey Club and the main sponsor of Welsh League Division 2 football club ENTO Aberaman AFC, has signed up as the kit sponsor until the end of the 2006/07 hockey season.

Formed in 1894, Leicester Hockey Club is one of the oldest Hockey Clubs in the world and has a close association with the England womenís national side, with four of its players currently playing for the England Squad ñ the same squad that picked up a bronze medal in the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

ìWe are extremely pleased to have signed this deal as this team is probably the highest profile hockey club in the UK, and because of the international calibre of some of its key players ñ it is becoming an international sporting brand,î explains David Morgan, Director of Marketing and Communications at ENTO.

ìWe specialise in people development, and so we are especially keen to form partnerships with clubs which contribute so significantly to the local community ñ by this I refer to Leicesterís valuable youth development programme, which recruits local youngsters and develops their talents in the sport.î

Alexis Williamson, President of the club, which last year came top of the Womenís English Hockey League Premier Division and won the England Hockey Cup, says of the sponsorship deal:

ìWe are extremely grateful for ENTOís support, as we are a large club which is heavily involved at the top end of the English and International hockey scene and although we may play like the womenís hockey equivalent of Chelsea FC, sadly we do not have their financial resources.

ìSponsorship from local businesses like ENTO allows us to compete and win at this top level and also continue on with our extensive youth development work.î
