The Employersí Forum on Disability is running two IT related events in February next year, in partnership with AbilityNet, a national charity that makes it easier for disabled adults to use information technology.
The ëReasonable adjustments in ITí workshop and ëAccessible ITí hot topic sessions will demonstrate how simple it is to use IT effectively and will also help organisations to work in the spirit of the Disability Discrimination Act.
Bill Fine, Principal Consultant at AbilityNet, who is speaking at the ëReasonable Adjustments in ITí workshop, says:
ìAs the world of work - and the world outside work - become more e-dependent, itís increasingly important that the need for and value of accessible technology is universally understood and appropriately used.
ìThere are many examples of good practice but we still have a long way to go. Too many people still assume and live with limitations that can be overcome by freely available alternatives.î
