E-days adds Bradford Formula Analysis to its capabilities

E-days, the online holiday and absence management system for medium to large organisations, has announced a number of improvements to its package.

As of January 2008, E-days will feature a number of new developments, including the ability to carry over unused annual leave into the next holiday year; increased analytical abilities for absences; over-time and time in-lieu reporting; easier integration of part-time workers; user defined absence categories; and the inclusion of the Bradford Formula to allow increased monitoring and reporting.

The Bradford Formula is based on the assumption that for many organisations, regular occurring short periods of absence can be more disruptive and costly than longer periods of leave, which can be planned for in advance.

ìIncluding the ability for HR departments to analyse the level of absence or short term sickness will be incredibly useful for them,î says E-daysí Tricia Durrant. ìA similar approach was adopted by the prison service some years ago and reduced short term sickness by 0.4 days per year. We believe that many organisations will benefit from having this feature at their disposal.î

As well as offering in-depth reporting, E-days reduces the amount of time it takes to request or grant holidays.

Being an online resource, E-days can be accessed at any time and in any location with internet access. Requests are made in just several clicks, with HR departments able to approve or decline applications just as quickly.

With all leave recorded to a central calendar, HR Directors are able to analyse leave through a wide range of criteria, enabling thorough reporting and trend monitoring.

ìMany of the companies who use E-days move from a paper based system which requires greater administration time and is open to potential abuse. The ability to view a rolling calendar, group employees by department, location or job title is highly beneficial as is the reduced time it takes people to apply for holiday or approve and record granted applications,î continues Tricia.

The E-days system is already used by companies such as software giants Real Networks, leading law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn, and PI Research ñ which manufactures motor racing parts for McLaren F1 team.
