Sainsburyís Supermarkets Limited has recently announced cost savings of over 2.5m on their contingent workforce in the Supply Chain and Store Development areas of the business, as a direct result of de Poelís custom made cost reduction solutions.
The Knutsford based independent consultancy has been working with Sainsburyís since January 2004, implementing their unique process throughout Sainsburyís 16 National Supply Chain Distribution Centreís and 450 Store Development sites.
Two years on the system continues to perform well, offering not only dramatic cost savings, but also additional measurable benefits.
By implementing de Poelís electronic timesheet and invoice processing system, e-tips, which enables web based invoice reconciliation and processing as well as delivering a single consolidated invoice, de Poel have helped Sainsburyís to reduce the volume of timesheets processed from 15,000 to just 52 a year. In addition to delivering significant soft savings, the system has dramatically increased agency invoice accuracy, considerably reduced the amount of time spent on administration and has increased the visibility of management information throughout the business.
In addition by rationalising Sainsburyís supplier base from approximately 160 agencies to a select panel of 77, putting in place formal Service Level Agreements and standardising the many and varied pay and charge rates, de Poel have helped Sainsburyís to forge better relationships and improve the levels of customer service given by their nominated agencies.
