Darrenís Diary

It is a very recent diary and it details Darren's typical week and also prospects of some exciting developments

Monday:
In order to deal with the continued demand for our
services we are expanding our team by adding an extra two consultants at the
Leicester Select Appointments. Office manager Sarah Baillie and I spent the
best part of the day interviewing some great applicants, by the end of the
day we choose the new team members that will be starting with us soon. The day
is a busy one as we meet with a variety of candidates, but the demand for extra
staff in this current climate is reassuring, proving that our policy of outstanding
customer service and commitment to our clients and candidates has been paying
off.

Tuesday:
The increase in press coverage about Select and my
hectic schedule requires a quick morning meeting with Anish and Seema from our
PR agency Fuelled Media to discuss our new marketing and PR strategy. After
which I head over to our Coventry offices of Select Appointments and Parkhouse
Recruitment to reflect on the month so far and how we can move forward into new
growth areas for the second half of the year.

Wednesday:
Meet with the executives of an international IT recruitment
company to discuss the prospect of Select Appointments supporting them by
filling the gaps in the types of roles they provide for. Leave the meeting feeling
very positive as it gives us a good reason to meet again to move things
forward. I am confident that this strategic alliance will benefit both parties.

Thursday:
Today we had an exciting visitor to our Leicester
office, Diane Martin, CEO of the Select Group. Diane came in to see how we
have been coping in the current economic client and to share ideas. After a
very productive meeting discussing some innovative ideas Diane spent some time
talking to all the staff and she was very impressed with the mood and fantastic
atmosphere in the office. It is an exciting place to be!

Friday:
An early 6:30am start for a BNI networking meeting.
More and more companies are seeing the benefits of using networking groups
to gain new business by referral. We have been members of BNI Premier Chapter
in Leicester for two and a half years now and we have some very productive
results. Back in the office for 9:00am, after a quick check of emails I am out
again visiting clients with the consultants to see how we are doing and to make
sure we are providing the very best service, ending the day with a quick
meeting with all the staff. Reflecting on the four days, I think they have been
very eventful but overall a productive week!
