Dan Martin joins as managing director from the digital division of A&N Media (ANM), Broadbean’s parent company and the UK's leading digital publisher, where he was Director of Business Development.
He succeeds Dan McGuire who over the past eight years has built Broadbean into one of the UK’s fastest growing Internet companies and the European leader in job advertisement distribution, response tracking and online search technology.
McGuire said: “Broadbean has been my passion for many years but I believe the time has come to hand over to someone at the beginning of what will be a new era for the company. Over the past couple of years we have made a significant investment in building a strong international offering and we’ve spent the last nine months creating a long term strategic vision for the business. I’m leaving Broadbean in the best shape it’s ever been in.”
“Dan Martin was the obvious choice to be my successor. He’s been an active member of our board since we were acquired by ANM and we share similar views on business and the way it should be done.” added McGuire.
McGuire is leaving to pursue new ventures but will remain with the company for a short handover period to ensure a smooth transition. He oversaw the sale of Broadbean to ANM in 2008 along with business partner Kelly Robinson, Founder and CEO, who will continue to focus on the company’s fast growth operations in the US and Australia. Robinson commented “Dan is a great guy and we’ve had a lot of fun building this business over the years. I’ll miss working with him on a daily basis but I’m excited about the challenge ahead and very much looking forward to working with Dan Martin.”
During five years with ANM incoming managing director Dan Martin led over 10 acquisitions including that of Broadbean. He said: “Dan McGuire has done an outstanding job in building Broadbean over the past eight years and we wish him great success with whatever he pursues next. In Broadbean I’m joining an impressive business with exciting growth potential. We are focused on delivering to our clients’ needs, with an active focus on international expansion and with a strong pipeline of new product development”.
Dan Martin joined Associated Northcliffe Digital from Deloitte where he headed the media M&A team. Prior to working for Deloitte, he worked for Ernst & Young for five years within the media M&A team, and before that within the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley.
