Following last yearís acquisition of the UK arm of the Spherion Group, Crystal Co. Ltd of Japan has purchased TAC Worldwide Companies for an undisclosed figure via a 100 per cent share deal. The move represents an additional Ä470 million global revenues to Crystal, and provides the group with a market leading brand in the technical recruitment arena and an unrivalled position in the supply of vendor neutral managed service programmes.

The acquisition by Crystal represents an important step in the groupís overall strategy of achieving
Ä1 billion of European revenues by 2009. TAC Europe will join sister companies, FSS and Crone Corkill, under the ownership of Crystal Group. Currently ranked as the 40th largest recruitment company in the UK, TAC Europe will continue to operate as an independent subsidiary.

Graeme Maude, CEO, Crystal UK (comprising the FSS and Crone Corkill brands) says: ìThis is very positive news for our business, our clients and our candidates. It clearly presents all Crystal companies with major business development opportunities as well as the chance to exploit appropriate synergies where possible. Like FSSí and Crone Corkillís clients, TAC Europeís clients will benefit from the delivery of a consistently high quality service and broader product choices. And for our candidates, it significantly expands our coverage across the UK.î
