Contingent Workforce Issues and Trends to Be Addressed at New Conference

.

Staffing Industry Analysts, Inc. today announced a new event designed to help HR, IT, procurement and business unit decision makers at large organizations tackle the ever-growing challenge of managing the suppliers and processes involved in hiring contingent staff. The innovative conference, Managing Contingent Workforce Suppliers and Solutions (www.cwsconference.com) will take place at the Crowne Plaza Chicago Hare, November 16-17, 2005. It is produced by Staffing Industry Analysts, Inc., the leading contingent workforce analyst firm and publisher of Contingent Workforce Strategies magazine.

his conference was developed in response to the important and growing trend of large companies relying on a contingent workforce, which allows them to be more flexible and cost-effective, commented Ron Mester, president and CEO, Staffing Industry Analysts, Inc. There have been some interesting developments in this area recently. For example, 24% of the companies polled in the last year are putting a vendor management system or solution (VMS) in place, compared to 8% just two years ago. Given this impressive growthì and other developmentsì we saw the need to provide an educational forum for companies using contingent labor.

The two-day event will provide attendees with in-depth education, including an overview of the trends shaping contingent workforce issues today, strategically focused sessions and real-world success stories from large companies using contingent labor. The keynote address, state of the Contingent Labor Supply Chain, will be presented by Barry Asin, chief analyst at Staffing Industry Analysts, Inc. Other topics will include:
