Construction careers kick off in Qatar as World Cup creates new opportunities

Britain’s built environment professionals have eyes on Qatar, with 89% believing that the World Cup could create new career opportunities for skilled professionals.

Research conducted by CareerStructure.com found four in five professionals would consider moving to Qatar for work (84%), due to the country investing heavily in new projects and infrastructure developments ahead of it hosting the World Cup in 2020.

With the on-going development in Qatar, 61% of built environment professionals believe that the country now presents more opportunities than the UK, and 82% are considering a move as a direct result. A better pay packet was also a big lure, with 88% of professionals expecting to be paid more than, or equal to, their current salary.
