Computer People raises customer support to new levels

IT recruitment specialist launches dedicated contractor national service desk

Computer People, the market leader in IT recruitment, today announced it has set up a dedicated contractor service desk to provide a more personalised service to IT professionals, who will be able to access the hotline for one point of contact for any day-to-day queries. This service will be invaluable for Computer Peopleís contractors to get a quick response and ensure any issues are resolved quickly and efficiently with minimal disruption to their working day.

Computer People receive regular feedback from their community of over 5,000 IT contractors and the service desk concept was developed in response to their demand for ease of access to information and support for contractors in the current fast-moving environment in IT. The service desk is staffed by professional customer service personnel and has been built with the latest call-centre technology to ensure that all calls are handled efficiently and is expected to field around 250 calls daily.

With our continued growth and commitment to the IT contract market, we realised that we needed to develop a much more sophisticated, managed and controlled approach to dealing with our contractor queries,î said Jane Harlow, customer services manager for Computer People. ìWith technology running more of our lives, most of us would rather talk to a real person when dealing with important matters relating to contractual or payment issues. The concept is simple - contractors will have to make only one call into our organisation to get their query registered and resolved.î

This new service is part of an ongoing programme of initiatives that Computer People is embarking on in the contractor arena in order to become established as the Contractors’ Agency of Choice. There will be a number of other contractor focused initiatives launched through the course of the year. These include a loyalty points scheme providing contractorís to clock up their hours with Computer People and receive a cash bonus throughout the year. Contractors will also be able to opt into the contractor welfare package which has offers and discounted rates on a variety of financial, health lifestyle products and services.

The service desk is now open from 8.30am until 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
