Coventry City Council is investing 850,000 in a new human resources and payroll solution which, it is estimated, will pay for itself in efficiency and effectiveness improvements over the next three years.
The city council has chosen Northgate HRís ResourceLink solution to manage the city councilís entire human resources function for its 16,000 employees, from recruitment, training and career development through to pension and retirement.
Councillor Brian Kelsey of Coventry City Council, said: ìResourceLink is a proven system and will be a key component in the city councilís efficiency and effectiveness programme.î
Councillor Kelsey added: ìWith the help of Northgate HR, we will be carrying out business process improvement reviews so that we can gain maximum benefit from the implementation. We expect it to contribute to significant savings in personnel costs across the council, while improving the quality of management information and enhancing the level of customer service.î
The City Council envisage the cost savings through improved business processes delivered by e-HR. Northgate HRís password-protected, on-line facility, MyView will enable city council employees to request holidays, view payslips online and update their own personal records ñ such as when they move house or change bank account details.
