A local business network group is closing in on its target of passing £1 million of city business after a successful morning that has launched them in touching distance of their target

A local business network group is closing in on its target of passing £1 million of city business after a successful morning that has launched them in touching distance of their target.

Over £44,000 worth of business was passed this morning (Thursday, September 30th) amongst members at the Britannia group of Business Networking International (BNI) who meet in Hanley, making it a total of £927,000 passed in the last 14 months.

It comes after the Britannia group appealed for more like-minded business people to join the group and share their success, which is making them the most successful BNI group in Staffordshire and Shropshire as well as launching them into being one of the best in the UK.

It puts all 37 members well on the path to reach their target to reach the £1million landmark in the final weeks of the year. In the last four weeks alone, the group made up of businesspeople from across the region have exceeded all expectations by passing over £100,000.

Carl Evans, Executive Director at BNI Staffordshire & Shropshire and Managing Director at Cartridge World Stoke-on-Trent, said “The Britannia Chapter of BNI has had phenomenal success in referring business amongst its members which is reflected in the incredible amount of trade being generated each week.”

Next month the group which meets at the Quality Hotel each Thursday morning will be inviting other like-minded businesspeople to join them for one day only to get a taste of what BNI is all about,

Mr Evans added, “By holding a Visitors Day in November we are giving a fantastic opportunity for more Stoke on Trent businesses to be involved in BNI than ever before and become part of this exciting venture moving forward, hopefully sharing in the chapter’s success.

We would urge anyone looking to be involved with the triumph of networking to contact us immediately.”

BNI is a twenty-five year old business and professional networking organization whose primary purpose is to exchange qualified business referrals. It’s the most successful organization of its type in the world today, with over 5,570 chapters in operation across the world including the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, across the European Union, Israel, Malaysia, Singapore, China, North America, India and Switzerland.

In 2009 members of BNI passed more than 6.2 million referrals which generated more than £1.45 billion worth of business for its members. There are over 640 Chapters in the UK and Ireland and over 659,000 referrals were passed the resulting in over £230 million worth of business to BNI members last year.
