CIPD launches podcast trial

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) today enters the world of digital broadcasting

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) today enters the world of digital broadcasting. A podcast recorded at the CIPDís Annual Conference and Exhibition is now available on the CIPD website. This will be followed by three more monthly podcasts, also recorded at the Annual Conference and Exhibition.

Each of the podcasts will include exclusive interviews with top speakers from the conference, including keynote speakers and some of the more than 60 senior HR practitioners who took the stage, along with reflections from the people management and development professionals who attended the event.

The four trial podcasts will each cover a different theme:

1) A round up of the key themes from the CIPDís Annual Conference and Exhibition
2) Managing change
3) Leadership
4) Talent management

Robert Blevin, External Affairs Manager at the CIPD, said,

ìThese podcasts are a new way for us to share leading edge thinking in people management and development with a wider audience. The CIPD Annual Conference and Exhibition is the largest people management conference in Europe, and features over 100 top speakers each year. The podcasts will allow us to capture some of the key themes facing HR today, along with some of the debate from the event, and to share this with anyone who is interested, at times and places that are convenient to them.

ìPeople who attended the event will be able to listen to the broadcasts and reflect on their time at the event. They will also be able to share the programmes with colleagues who could not attend.

ìThe CIPD is committed to constantly improving the CIPD website, which has already become the single most important means we have of communicating with members and all those with an interest in people management and development. These podcasts are the latest example of our commitment to finding new ways of adding to the content available on the website. If these trial podcasts prove popular, the CIPD will develop a regular series of programmes, available for download from the CIPD website.î
