From today the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) has made real its intention to further step up its public policy drive by appointing its Chief Economist, Dr John Philpott, as director of a newly-created Public Policy Department.
During his eight years at the CIPD, John has made his name as the leading commentator on labour market issues and is a regular in the broadcast and print media. He fronts up the CIPDís quarterly Labour Market Outlook report, conducted jointly with KPMG, which has a track record of accurately predicting future UK jobs trends and is followed closely by policy makers.
John will utilise all his experience and knowledge to lead a department focused on building relations with key stakeholders and cementing CIPDís place as the leader on workplace issues.
