Expanding on his address at the RCSAís Presidentís Dinner, Mr Bill Scales AO, Chair of the Australian Safety and Compensation Council, will address an RCSA luncheon on 25 July in Melbourne.

ìThe changing nature of work makes consistency of OHS and workersí compensation processes more vital than ever.

ìEffective occupational health and safety requires more than just an awareness of legal and procedural requirements; it is about taking an active role in monitoring and improving workplace safety,î said Julie Mills, CEO of the RCSA.

At the Presidentís Dinner, Mr Scales urged recruiters to extend their roles to discuss occupational health and safety issues with their clients in a bid to motivate and retain the contemporary workforce, as todayís knowledge- based workers will not tolerate an unsafe or unsupportive workplace.

He said that the contemporary workforce, assisted by a range of new technologies, has forced us to think again about how we retain this new wave of highly educated and independent job seekers, who see themselves as professionals, not employees.

Passionate about safety and workersí compensation, at the luncheon, Mr Scales AO will discuss :
The changing nature of work
The importance of consistency in OHS and Workersí Compensation
The Australian Safety & Compensation Council and the recruitment and on hire industry
Employersí roles in effective OHS management

Places are limited; for bookings contact the RCSA on 03 9663 055 or www.rcsa.com.au

WorkPro, a new generation on-line induction tool will also be launched at the luncheon.
