Minneapolis, MN - Ceridian, a leader in managed human resource outsourcing solutions that maximize the value of people (www.myceridian.com), today announced that it has won a 2005 Caregiver Friendly Award from Todayís Caregiver magazine (www.caregiver.com) and caregiver.com for its online, interactive elder care assessment tool. This is the second consecutive year that Ceridian has received this award, which is designed to celebrate products, services, books and media created with the needs of caregivers in mind.
Specifically, Ceridian was recognized by the magazine for an online tool, ìWhat Help Does My Older Relative Need?î self-assessment, which is available to employees of companies that offer Ceridian EAP and work-life services as part of their employee benefit package. Via this interactive self-assessment, caregivers and their family members can identify and prioritize major areas of elder care problems and link to information, local resources and support for addressing those concerns. Individual responses to questions are programmed to generate tailored information and care planning suggestions, with links to more extensive information and support. Information on a full range of medical, psychosocial, financial and legal resources is available through this service.
ìCaring for an aged loved one is perhaps the most difficult challenge that one will ever face,î said Gary Barg, editor-in-chief of Todayís Caregiver. ìIn presenting this award, we recognize not only Ceridianís innovative online assessment tool, but also its ongoing commitment to providing a comprehensive range of elder-care services that support employee caregivers.î
ìAs Americaís older population continues to grow, more workers and their employers will face elder care issues,î said Diane Piktialis, Ceridianís director of work-life products. ìCeridian is a proven leader in this area and will continue to respond to the diverse needs of employee caregivers with innovative, reliable elder care services that reduce stress, increase productivity and cut down on absenteeism in the workplace.î
Ceridian was the nationís first provider of fully integrated EAP, work-life and wellness services. Today, Ceridianís EAP and work-life services are utilized by more than 25,000 organizations worldwide of all sizes in virtually every industry. In 2003, the company received the ëBusiness of the Year Award for Exemplary Business Programsí from the American Society on Aging and in 2004 it won the ëCaregiver Friendly Award.í Ceridian also recently gained accreditation from Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services, an international, independent, not-for-profit accrediting body of social and behavioral healthcare services. Most recently the Mature Market Resource Center awarded Ceridian the 2004 World Wide Web Mature Media Award in recognition of its innovations in elder care and retirement planning educational services.
The 2005 Caregiver Friendly Awards will be presented at Todayís Caregiver magazineís Fearless Caregiver Conference in Los Angeles, June 28, 2005. Award winners will also be profiled in the September/October issue of the magazine and on its website.
