Parasol, the UK’s favourite umbrella company, has been appointed as sole supplier of umbrella services by the Edinburgh based IT and technical recruitment specialist, Cathcart Associates.

Parasol will now provide umbrella and employment services to all of Cathcart contractors.

Commenting on the partnership, Gordon Kaye, a Director of Cathcart, said: “As a leading IT recruiter, we believe that we have a duty of care to work with only service providers that offer protection for ourselves and the contractors we place and add value. With this in mind we have agreed a sole supplier agreement with Parasol, largely to due to the risk mitigation model they offer our business and their industry leading levels of compliance. They also provide an excellent service to both ourselves and the contractors we place, proactively advising us on any legislation changes and how we can work within it. In a difficult economic climate it is also good to know that we are dealing with a company who is a member of the FCSA (Freelance & Contractor Services Association) and all the security that comes with that.”

“We have been working with Parasol for many years now and have always had a fantastic service from them. In a competitive industry it speaks volumes that we also have a local point of contact.”

Chris Clowes, Group Head of Sales at Parasol, added: “It gives me immense satisfaction when we can demonstrate to our recruiter partners the added value working with an umbrella company can provide, moving us away from the image of an ‘ad-hoc’ needs must service, to a genuine partnership based on trust and confidence.

“In a challenging market, we believe it is this mindset that sets Parasol apart from the crowd and, moving forward, we are looking forward to working with Cathcart in what will be a long and successful relationship.”
