CareerBoard.com and Computerwork.comís parent company, JobServe.com, is on the move again with the acquisition of Canadian job site JobShark.com. This continues JobServeís interest in North America, following the recent US purchase of ComputerJobs.com and establishment of JobServe USA.
JobShark.com was founded in 1997 and quickly became one the most popular job boards in Canada. The site now has nearly 1 million registered users and more than 4 million visitors a year.
ìWe are all very excited about the recent acquisition of JobShark. We are adding another strong board with dynamic technology to the family of JobServe sites,î Founder of CareerBoard and CEO of JobServe USA, Peter Tuttle, said.
JobSharkís newest accomplishment is the development of a sophisticated skills profiling and targeting tool, known as ìJaws.î This unique recruiting tool accurately matches candidates to vacancies, keeping the Ontario-based company at the forefront of an ever evolving market.
Robbie Cowling, founder and Managing Director of JobServe said, ìJobShark is a fantastic company and like us has a strong job seeker focus. We will look to share their knowledge across the group to further improve the performance of our other websites.î He added, ìI am determined to establish a strong presence for JobServe in North America and we warmly welcome the JobShark team to our group.î
