Cleveland-based CareerBoard, LLC has acquired competitor JobBoards.com, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.
The move will enable CareerBoard, historically an Ohio-focused web site, to add Detroit, Louisville and Indianapolis to its portfolio, creating a midwest footprint. These additional markets will be added to the CareerBoard network in fall 2004.
Since 1997 CareerBoard has successfully provided local jobs for local talent in northeast Ohio, said Peter Tuttle, CareerBoard president. In recent years, weíve been able to expand that philosophy to encompass the entire state of Ohio. Iím looking forward to growing beyond Ohioís borders with this same philosophy. CareerBoard plans to have an emphasis on each specific local market we enter.
JobBoards.com was launched in June 1998. They have over 100,000 resumes in their database and over 1,000 current job postings. Current partnerships include Crainís Detroit Business and the Columbus Technology Council.
JobBoards.com CEO, Rob Phillips, will remain a principal of the new organization and provide management consulting services.
Combining our resources will reduce redundancy in the market, expand customer offerings and allow the new organization to focus on delivering more recruitment products and services, said Phillips.
JobBoards.com president Nathan Heerdt will also remain as a principal, and will have an active role in the daily operations of CareerBoard.
Iím excited to join CareerBoard and bring both company ideologies together for customers in our target markets, said Heerdt. We will be dedicated to providing our customers with a true local recruitment solution throughout much of the midwest.
