UK businesses are being urged to make more use of our strength in scientific research and innovation to create jobs and wealth for the country.
Business leaders have made the call ahead of the Pioneers 09 Science Showcase, being held at Olympia on March 4.
The event, run by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), will showcase the latest research from more than 20 UK universities through a range of interactive stands. Pioneers 09 will also provide business and researchers with networking opportunities and face to face information on available EPSRC funding.

The day will include talks from director of the Bloodhound SSC land-speed record team, Richard Noble and a debate about internet privacy led by BBC science journalist Quentin Cooper, featuring industry expert Tom llube. There will also be a Dragonís Den style workshop where scientists will pitch research ideas to a panel of venture capitalists.
