BT has just released its latest social and environment report. The report details performance and progress achieved during the 2005 financial year.

Some of the highlights covered by the report include:

* 9.1 million invested in community projects and 11.7 million support provided in kind

* Broadband available to exchanges serving over 95% of UK homes and businesses

* Global Warming Carbon Dioxide emissions 53% below 1996 levels

* 100% of actions identified through supply chain risk assessment process followed up

* Reduced waste sent to landfill by 8% in the 2005 financial year.
