Boorman tempted out of retirement for 2009 Marathon

Bill Boorman may be best known in the recruitment world for business coaching and consultancy but next month he will be once again donning a 7ft clown outfit to run London Marathon in aid of the Round Table Children's Wish Charity.

I swore I'd never do it again, said Bill, who has run 15 marathons totalling 393 racing miles around the world, the outfit is very large but the most distinctive thing about it is the head - it's very large and rolls around a lot which means blurred vision and difficulty in moving in a straight line, but the RTCW is such a fantastic charity I have been tempted out of retirement to run once more.

The RTCW grants wishes to children with life threatening illnesses - it could be a laptop or a bike or a holiday - anything that will help make that child's life - however short it may be - special. The crucial thing is that it has to be the children's own wish - not a parent's or friend's but their very own so that the charity can fulfil the child's secret dream.

I have been lucky enough to meet some of the children whose wishes have been granted and it is really inspiring, said Bill.
