Blackboard Appoints Principal Consultant

Blackboard Inc, a provider of e-Learning software and services for academic institutions, has appointed a new member to the Blackboard Consulting Group. Demetra Katsifli joins as Principal Consultant for the Blackboard Consulting Group, in the United Kingdom from Kingston University. Ms. Katsifli brings more than a decade of experience working with education and technology. She will apply her industry-specific experience to help Blackboard clients in the United Kingdom maximise the value of their e-Learning initiatives.

Ms. Katsifli joins Blackboard from Kingston University where she served as Head of Academic ICT Services. Ms. Katsifli is qualified in Mathematics and Computer Science, and has carried out research in computer aided learning in numerical analysis for undergraduate students (as part of her PhD). In the last six years, she has held a leading strategic role in the development of Kingston’s Learning Management System; responsible for the implementation of one of the UK’s first and most robust integrated e-learning systems (using Blackboard and integrating it with student records, personnel data and Novell to achieve a true managed learning environment).
