Leading invoice finance provider, Bibby Financial Services, has strengthened its team in the north of England by appointing Mark Storey as managing director for Yorkshire and the North East.
Assuming his new role on 1 June and reporting into regional managing director Jim Brydon, Mark will have overall managerial responsibility for Bibby Financial Services in the Yorkshire and North East regions. He will be tasked with delivering local profit, new business and operational targets within these regions.
Mark, who will be based across the companyís offices in Yorkshire and Sunderland, joins Bibby Financial Services following 14 years at Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance (formerly Alex Lawrie Factors). Prior to this, he spent 12 years at Lloyds Bank, an organisation he joined straight from school.
Commenting on his appointment, Mark said: ìThe financial services industry is in the midst of one of the toughest trading periods in its history, and the current economic climate has led to many banks becoming far more cautious about their credit policies. As a result, the role of organisations such as Bibby Financial Services becomes even more significant as they actively demonstrate to small and medium-sized enterprises that there are alternative funding options available.
ìI am very excited at the prospect of building on the proven successful track record of Bibby Financial Services, which through its provision of wide-ranging and flexible products, has built an exceptional reputation as the largest independent provider of invoice finance solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises in the UK. The challenges of getting into the local markets, understanding the requirements and working practices of local businesses and providing them with support which offers value for money are ones which excite me tremendously.î
Bibby Financial Services is a market-leading specialist and currently provides invoice finance facilities for more than 3,000 businesses. It also handles annual client turnover of more than 3.4billion and advances in the region of 300m every year to help small and medium-sized firms grow and realise their potential.
Jim Brydon said: ìMark brings with him a deep and thorough understanding of the financial services sector. I am confident the knowledge he has gained over almost 30 years, together with a fresh perspective, will enable Bibby Financial Services to continue strengthening its core offerings in the north of England.î
